The love of cooking courses through my veins, been that way since I was born and for better or worse, all my friends know this! As a kid, I loved cooking so much I used *very enthusiastically* ask my friends to ‘botch’ with me, which meant bake without a recipe and see how it goes. Um, not very well, they were mostly over-salted, hard as a rock, flying saucers. Oops :[
Friends at 5 and friends today have all cooked with me - but now maybe they are enjoying it a little more! This summer I lived with one of my best friends for a few weeks with her husband and their one year old (my godson). We cooked nearly every day together - and definitely ate every day together! Since I left, she sends me photos of all her Kristin-inspired cooking creations and I love nothing more.
Speaking of recipes, here is my favorite smoothie recipe (that Harley is wearing above!)
2 cups almond milk (or milk of your choice)
1 cup romaine
2 cups baby spinach
2 cups baby kale
1 teaspoon matcha
1 teaspoon spirulina
1/2 frozen banana
2 tablespoons brown rice protein powder
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.
*Feel free to add any assortment of fresh or dried fruit, raw nuts or seeds or even raw cacao nibs to the top of your smoothie for some added fun!
The truth is, I have quite the collection of treasured texts from all my friends with photos of them making my recipes. Of course it’s awesome to know you share the same excitement over healthy food as your friends, or that you’ve gotten them to make some healthier choices through recipes they love to make themselves. In my opinion, the goofier the better, and thank god I'm not short on those!! A few of my favorites are below ...sorry guys!
